Before you start
- Role. Rejecting requires the Owner, Admin, or Manager role. A Viewer's decision is refused.
- Where. Open the program, then its Submissions tab. Reject from a card in Pending, or tick several and Reject selected to give one reason to all of them.
- A reason is required. The Reject button stays disabled until you type one, and the system refuses a rejection without it.
What rejecting does
| What | Detail |
|---|---|
| Status | The submission becomes Rejected and moves to the program's Rejected view |
| Record | Your reason, the time, and your workspace are stored on the submission |
| Money | Nothing. No payout is created and nothing is owed |
| Advocate | Emailed and notified in-app, with your reason in both |
| Finality | The decision cannot be reversed. A second decision on the same submission is refused |
Bulk rejection does all of the above for every selected submission, with the same reason for each.
What the advocate sees
The email is titled "Submission update for" your program name. It says the submission was not approved, shows your reason in a highlighted box, and closes with "Please review the program guidelines and try again with a new post."
The in-app notification carries the same subject and your reason as its body.
On their own Submissions page the card shows a red Rejected badge and a "Rejection Reason" box with your text. They can filter that page to Rejected.
The email's last line says "a new post". They are not limited to that. A corrected version of the same post, at the same URL, is accepted too.
How a corrected post comes back
The advocate opens Submit a post, picks the program, and submits again. Nothing marks it as a resubmission; it is a new submission and goes through every check a first submission does:
| Check | What passes |
|---|---|
| Enrollment | They are still an approved advocate in that program |
| Program | The program is active. Paused and closed programs refuse posts |
| Platform | The post is on a platform the program allows |
| URL | No Pending or Approved submission already exists for that URL. A Rejected one does not block it |
| Screenshot | A fresh screenshot is required every time |
| Spacing | The program's minimum days between posts, measured from their last Pending or Approved submission. Rejected submissions do not count, so a rejection never delays the correction |
It lands in Pending with a new estimate calculated at that moment, and you get the same new-submission email and in-app notification as for any post.
Your earlier rejection stays on the Rejected view with its reason. The corrected submission is a separate card. When the URL is the same, open both and compare.
What cannot happen
| Wanted | What to do instead |
|---|---|
| Edit a rejected submission's impressions or screenshot | Nothing to edit. The advocate submits again |
| Un-reject | Not possible. Ask the advocate to resubmit and approve the new one |
| Reject something already approved | Approval is final. Contact support@kindlinghq.com before the next payout run |
| Resubmit while the first submission is still Pending | Refused as "already submitted". Decide the pending one first |
| Submit to a paused program | Refused until you resume it |
Writing a rejection the advocate can act on
Name the rule and the fix. "The screenshot shows 2,100 impressions, the form says 21,000. Resubmit with the matching figure" gets a corrected post back the same day. "Numbers look off" gets a confused reply.
Reject against your published guidelines. If a post breaks a rule you never wrote, fix the guidelines rather than the advocate.
Troubleshooting
| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| The advocate sees "This post has already been submitted" | A submission for that URL is Pending or Approved, not Rejected. Check both views on the program's Submissions tab |
| The advocate is told to wait N more days | Their last Pending or Approved post is inside the program's minimum spacing. A rejection does not cause this |
| I rejected the wrong post | It cannot be undone. Tell the advocate to resubmit and approve the new one |
| The corrected post shows a different amount | Expected. The estimate is recalculated at submission time, including the advocate's remaining monthly cap |
| The advocate says they never got the reason | Rejections, single and bulk, send both an email and an in-app notification. Ask them to check the Notifications page in their account |
FAQ
Can an advocate resubmit the same URL?
Yes, once the earlier submission for it has been rejected.
Will I know it is a resubmission?
Not automatically. The URL is the same on both cards, and the earlier one is on the Rejected view with your reason.
Does a rejection count against their monthly cap or spacing?
No. Only Pending and Approved submissions count toward either.
Can I reject in bulk with different reasons?
No. A bulk rejection applies one reason to every selected submission. Reject individually when the reasons differ.
